Seems like a really good deal. 2008, only 8k miles, and only $12k.

Long story short a really good friend has been looking for a car and he doesn't give a shit about cars. So no GTIs, V6 mustangs, or Miatas. He was looking to spend $10k but that quickly turned into $10-15k.

The miles seem crazy low on this car and its not a typo either.

Also AWD is a plus because he lives in Michigan's snow belt. Is oppo okay with this recommendation?

Between Edmunds and KBB, it's well within their value range of $11,106 - $13,227. However, it sounds like m-b-w has found that this particular Impreza has had a bit of a past.

You should still be able to find a decent one for around the price of this one. It will probably have more miles, but it's worth it if it also has a cleaner history.

I did not …. but that would either be a 4 hour boat ride or a 6 hour drive. thanks for looking though. Does show there are others around that are also a good deal.

Right - drive it first, but make the sale contingent on inspection. I once bought a car that had been hit - made it difficult to align.
